Merry Christmas from The Birches
The Birches Alzheimer Day Care Centre would like to wish their dearly loved clients and families a peaceful and happy Christmas. They would like to express their deepest gratitude to the many people who have supported The Birches during 2019. Thanks to those who organised fundraising events and to those who supported these events, showing solidarity with the Birches in so many different ways. The level of support received by The Birches from the North Louth area is heartening for both staff and management. It continues to fill them with the courage to always strive to see the light in worlds which can be darkened by dementia. It inspires them to continue their commitment to families all over Louth, to deliver the highest standard of care and respect to all who pass through their doors.
Celebrating Christmas with family and friends can be one of life’s greatest joys. For a person living with dementia it can sometimes be an overwhelming experience. Old photographs can often help to broaden conversation when chatting becomes challenging. Making the most of the musical aspect of Christmas by playing Christmas CD’s can have direct benefits for someone living with dementia. Carer’s of people living with dementia work tirelessly to fulfil their valuable role. They deserve a chance to put their feet up at this special time of year. Christmas is a lovely opportunity to offer them support. Christmas is forever, not just for one day. Each day is for loving, sharing, giving and not to be put away with the bells, lights and tinsel in a box on a shelf. Blessed are those who ease the days of another’s journey home in loving ways. During this Christmas season, let love weave it’s way though each other’s hearts. When we give rather than receive, the world becomes such a better place to live. People need people, we are each other’s greatest resource. May Christmas blessings be in abundance to all who are a part of The Birches family.
